My friend is so competitive I've had enough?

So things with my friend are getting worse and worse! she is competing all the time with me about our 6year old daughters! She tells me basically but not in so many words that her daughter is better than mine! But then she goes and copy's me with things like birthday party's and after sch clubs! I can't tell her to stop doing it because she gets on her high horse so easily and our friendship won't survive! My husband has told me to ignore it which is what I've done but it's getting worse and I end up getting upset by it! Do I play the same game or do I find a way of shutting her up for good! I'm at my wits end! Any help I would really appreciate it!
